Ten Commandments
Printable list of the Ten Commandments
Now you can print off a list of the Ten Commandments and post them on your refrigerator or somewhere else in your home. This list in the Old Covenant(Testament) Scriptures is from Sir Lancelot Brenton's translation of the Septuagint, or LXX. The Septuagint is the oldest copy of the Old Covenant Scriptures available. It is also the version of the Old Covenant which the apostles and Jesus quoted from. The Masoretic Hebrew text which most modern Bible's are translated from today did not appear until 1050 A.D. Masoretic Hebrew is also not the original language of the Israelites. It is very different from paleo-hebrew. Because the northern tribes were taken into captivity and then dispersed into Europe such that they now embody the European nations, they no longer spoke their old Hebrew language. Consequently God provided the Septuagint as a translation from the old ancient hebrew(not the Masoretic text) and authenticated it by quoting from it exclusively in the New Covenant.
